Letter From Heaven
|
|
To my dearest family ...
There's some things I'd like to say,
But first of all, to let you know
That I have arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven.
Here I dwell with God above,
Where there's no more tears of sadness ...
There is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy
Just because I'm out of sight;
Remember that I am with you
Every morning, noon and night.
The day I had to leave you
When my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me
And said, "I welcome you!"
"It's good to have you back again,
You were missed while you were gone;
As for your dearest family,
They'll be here later on."
"I need you here badly,
As you're part of my plan;
There's so much that we have to do,
To help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things
That he wished for me to do;
And foremost on the list
Was to watch and care for you.
When you lie in bed at night,
With the day's chores put to flight,
God and I are closest to you ...
In the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth
And all those loving years,
Because you are only human,
They are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry,
It does help to relieve pain;
Remember there would be no flowers
Unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you
All that God has planned;
But if I were to tell you,
You really wouldn't understand.
There is one thing is for certain,
Although my life on earth is o'er,
I'm closer to you now,
Than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you
And many hills to climb;
But together we can do it
By just taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy
And I'd like it be for you too,
That as you give unto the world,
The world will give back to you.
If you can ever help somebody
Who's in sorrow and pain,
Then you can say to God at night ...
"My day was not in vain."
For now I am contented,
That my life was worthwhile;
Knowing as I passed along the way,
I was able to make somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody
Who is sad and feeling low ...
Just lend a hand to pick him up,
As on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street
And you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps
Only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go
From that body to be free,
Remember that you're not going ...
You're coming here to me.

Boggy Depot State Park
|
|
This park sits on 630 Park Acres. It gets its name from Clear Boggy Creek which flows to the east, and from its use as a Confederate commissary depot during the Civil War. Located along the old Texas Road between Ft. Gibson and Ft. Washita, Boggy Depot was a well established crossroads during the Civil War.
It was a beautiful park.. It is in Oklahoma 11 milies W of Atoka on Hwy 7, 4 miles S on Park Ln Rd
After viewing the sign on Highway 7 I was surprised how well the parks was kept. It is a lovely park and well worth getting off the highway and traveling the 4 miles to it's entrance.

Before we headed home we went back into Pickens area to see if we could find a few of the cabins we had seen on the WWW.. We were disappointed to see that pulling our ATV trailer we were not allow to the cabins at the Tree Top Cabin area.
So we went back to Battiest and Pickens before we headed home..
.Directions from Pickens to Cloudy Oklahoma as found on MapQuest..
Start out going NORTHWEST toward MAIN COUNTY ST.
Turn LEFT onto MAIN COUNTY ST.
Turn RIGHT to stay on MAIN COUNTY ST.
Turn LEFT onto HOLLY CREEK RD / 70000.
Turn RIGHT onto HOLLY CREEK RD / 75000. Continue to follow HOLLY CREEK RD.
HOLLY CREEK RD becomes CLOUDY RD.
Turn LEFT onto N4355 RD.
End at Cloudy, OK US
Total Est. Distance: 18.06 miles
.Directions from Cloudy to Rattan Oklahoma as found on MapQuest.
Start out going NORTH on N4355 RD toward CLOUDY RD.
Turn LEFT onto CLOUDY RD.
Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto OK-3 / E MAIN ST.
End at Rattan, OK US
Total Est. Distance: 11.12 miles
Problem with this is again no road signs but the only other way from pickens to Rattan is over 80 miles.. If you can make it through here it saves you over a hour drive.
The pictures after the Pickens City Park
are a few snaps that I took along the road to Rattan.

Cardinal Nest Cabin
|
|
Our November 4th - 6th stay at the Cardinal Nest Cabin near Pickens Oklahoma
We didn't get to the cabin until after 10pm Friday night and our friends took a couple wrong turns and didn't make it until after 3am Saturday morning.. The area is in the mountains and one wrong turn will have you lost for hours.
These pictures were taken 11-06-2005 of the cabin that we stayed in on our 2005 fall foliage riding trip. I went riding with my husband and our friends (Oklahoma Power) while riding our ATV's in the "Three Rivers Wildlife Management Area", in Southeast Oklahoma near Pickens and Battiest, Oklahoma. The area offers beautiful scenery and is accessible by car and also offer endless ATV riding areas.. We had a great time and we were not disappointed in the cabin or the area that it was in.. The only downfall is that it is hard to find if you don't have proper directions.
To see more pictures of the cabin please visit the
Cardinal Nest Web site http://www.cardinalsnestcabin.com/.

Oklahoma Zoo by 6 year old Grand Daughter
|
|
Zoo snaps by my 6 year old Grand Daugher. She will be 7 next month. (November)
All Photos were taken with her Vivitar digital ViViCam 35 camera. She did a really good job considering her arms are not long enough to get close enough to shoot through the fences and her camera does not have a zoom.
